Parking Restrictions on Mass Ave.

With no current on-street parking restrictions in parts of West Acton center, some business owners are feeling the impact. There will be a public hearing tonight to discuss adding two-hour on-street parking in parts of West Acton.

There is a public hearing tonight during the Board of Selectmen (BOS) meeting at 7:40 p.m. in the Faulkner Room of the regarding a proposed amendment to existing traffic and parking rules on Massachusetts Avenue. in West Acton has brought several new businesses to the area like , and , to name a few, and has extended on-street parking alongside these businesses that currently do not have parking restrictions.

The BOS will vote tonight whether or not to extend a two-hour parking restriction on Massachusetts Avenue from Spruce Street about 500 feet east.  This would encompass future construction of on-street parking alongside the Wave Project.

“The extended (on-street) parking that was built during the Wave Project does not have any parking restrictions on it right now and the safety officer in town has been speaking with the businesses in the area and reported that they have been having some troubles with vehicles parking there all day long,” said Corey York, Director of Public Works.
