Selectmen Approve Two-Hour Parking Alongside Wave Project
There is now a two-hour on-street parking restriction alongside the Wave Project. Do you think the rest of the West Acton strip, which currently has one-hour on-street parking should also have a two-hour on-street parking restriction?

Last week the Acton Board of Selectmen (BOS) voted to extend a two-hour on-street parking restriction on Massachusetts Avenue from Spruce Street about 500 feet east. This would encompass future construction of on-street parking alongside the
This initiative was sparked from complaints made by business owners in the area claiming people were parking for long periods of time outside their business. The Acton police department recommended this amendment be brought to the BOS, which brought Corey York, Town Engineer/Director of Public Works to the BOS meeting to initiate the vote.
Currently, one-hour on-street parking exists alongside all of the other businesses on both sides of Massachusetts Avenue.

Selectmen Pamela Harting-Barrat would like to see two-hour on-street parking on Massachusetts Avenue between the railroad tracks and Spruce/Kinsley Street.
“There is a one-hour parking limit outside of the spa () which is really untenable for customers,” said Hartin-Barrat.

There was talk of a possible future amendment to incorporate two-hour on-street parking outside of Moodz.
Currently there is no signage outside of the Wave Project that states two-hour parking but according to York, it will be posted shortly.
