Things To Know About Tonight's Planning Board Meeting
Brief information about the proposed development at Quail Ridge Country Club.

The Quail Ridge Country Club may soon become a 9-hole golf course. Pulte Homes is under agreement to purchase the property and originally wanted to place 174 new condo-style homes (in a 2008 proposal to the Planning Board) located where the back-nine golf course is but there is a new plan to shed the development to 153 senior homes.
For a more detailed look at the plan, click here (and then on Document 054) for information from Planning Director, Roland Bartl.
Residents from Acorn Park, the abutting development to the proposed new Quail Ridge developments, are concerned that the way the current permit is written, will increase traffic on their streets: Palmer Lane and Hazelnut Street. The proposed plan will allow emergency traffic to flow through Palmer Lane and full public access onto Hazelnut Street.

According to Acorn Park resident, Valerie Bauer Gore, there are neighborhood concerns about the possability of increased traffic flow on Hazelnut, which in her point of view, are already narrow streets where children play.
According to Gore, it would be best if Palmer Lane would only be allowed for emergency access. But as the current plan stands, Hazelnut Street will connect to the new developments and Palmer Lane will be an emergency access way.
