18-Year-Old Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Andover Crash
Both sides of Route 93 were closed early Monday as MedFlight landed on the highway and took the teen to the hospital in Boston.
ANDOVER, MA — An 18-year-old from Methuen sustained life-threatening injuries when he crashed his car into the back of a tractor-trailer on Route 93 North at Route 495 in Andover overnight Monday, Massachusetts State Police said in a series of tweets.
Both sides of Route 93 were closed as MedFlight landed on the highway at the crash site and took the teen to the hospital in Boston, police said. As of 12:40 a.m., the scene was cleared and normal traffic operations had resumed, according to police.
Police said that the teenager was driving at a high speed when he crashed into the tractor-trailer.
