74 Recent Graduates of Prestigious Boarding School Taken Into Custody After Underage Drinking Party
The graduates were transported by a school bus to police headquarters in Sunapee, N.H.

An underage drinking party did not end well early Monday morning for 74 recent graduates of Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. The prestigious, co-educational academy’s graduation was held on Sunday, June 7; 328 males and females graduated from the boarding school.

Sunapee, N.H. Police took into custody 74 of those graduates early Monday morning at a rented house on Trow Hill Road, according to authorities. The 74 males and females were transported by a school bus to police headquarters.

Police initially received a call about 4 in the morning that a young male who appeared to be unresponsive was hanging out of a in a vehicle at 23 Trow Hill Road in Sunapee.
Officers observed numerous vehicles parked in the area, and a number of people at the residence who appeared to have been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Upon further investigation, the officers determined that this was a large party with alcohol and minors present. Over six dozen people were taken into custody, by Sunapee Police.
According to authorities, 23 of the 74 people taken into custody, face charges to include underage possession and transportation of alcoholic beverages. The other 51 individuals were placed into protective custody.
All of the underage persons involved were processed and released to parents or relatives. None of the 74 were treated for injuries or illness related to this incident.
The 23 who are facing charges have court dates of August 4, 2015 at the s” Circuit Court in Newport District Court, Newport, N.H.,
Sunapee Police and the owners of the house are working together to identify the individual who rented the residence for the weekend. Authorities said that person could be facing criminal charges for hosting the party.
Sunapee Police were assisted at the scene by the NH State Police, Newport Police Department, New London Police Department, Goshen Police Department and the Sunapee School District.
