In January of 2014, SHED Children's Campus was awarded the Preschool Innovative STEM Curriculum Grant through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care allotting us the opportunity to construct an annual pumpkin patch on our grounds. We have been extremely busy over the last several months planning the project and implementing the curriculum into our classrooms. Our children have been actively exploring the life cycle of a pumpkin, and were able to plant seeds in the classroom which then will be transplanted in our raised beds. Thanks to the generous support of volunteers and Wildwood Nurseries, we are finally ready to plant our pumpkin seeds! Stay tuned for more news as our experiential project continues to unfold!
