First responders then entered the water using a paddle board and personal flotation devices.

They were able to find the juvenile male about 25 feet from the shore, where he was submerged in about 10 to 12 feet of water.

First responders pulled him from the water, placed him on the paddle board and immediately began life-saving measures.

They brought him back to shore, where they were met by more first responders.

Paramedics took him to Lawrence General Hospital. He was then taken via a medflight helicopter to a Boston hospital for further treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.

Police did not release any further information about the juvenile male's condition.
