Long-Time Deputy Fire Chief Retires In Andover

ANDOVER, MA — Deputy Fire Chief Albert DelDotto is retiring after 40 years of service, according to Andover Fire Rescue.

DelDotto was appointed to Andover Fire Rescue in 1986.

He also served as the department’s long-time training officer, mentoring and training new firefighters.

DelDotto also served as a fire instructor at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy.

"Throughout his career, Deputy DelDotto earned the respect of his firefighters by being one of, if not the, most passionate and knowledgeable firefighters on our department," a post from the department reads. "His command presence and experience led to the safe and successful outcome of whatever incident he commanded."
