Andover Police Warn Residents Of Recent House Break-Ins

ANDOVER, MA — Andover police are warning residents to lock their doors and remain vigilant after a rash of house break-ins and attempted house break-ins were reported in recent days.

Police said the break-ins were reported in the area in and around Ballardvale and Dascomb Roads.

"We understand the concern incidents such as these cause within the community, so we want to assure residents that we are working diligently on these investigations and following up on all leads and information associated with them," police said on Wednesday.

Police said residents should take steps to safeguard their homes, which include:

• Locking doors, vehicles and outside buildings such as sheds and garages
• Install home security cameras
• Leaving exterior lighting on at night
• Storing ladders away from the house, ideally in a secure area

"We urge anyone with information regarding these breaks or anyone with knowledge of any suspicious activity or persons to contact the detective tip line 978-623-3560," police said. "As always, anyone needing to report a crime in progress should always call 911.

"We appreciate the public's assistance as we work through these incidents."
