ANDOVER, MA — Andover's annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event is scheduled for next Oct. 28 — giving families a designated Halloween stop in the center of town before official townwide trick-or-treating later that week.
The event will run from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Downtown Andover. The family-friendly tradition is designed to offer "a safe and fun way to celebrate the Halloween season" while also encouraging residents to explore local businesses downtown.
Several participating shops, restaurants and other businesses are expected to hand out treats to costumed visitors during the hour-long event. Town departments will also be part of the program, greeting trick-or-treaters in front of Old Town Hall.
The town also released official townwide trick-or-treating hours for Halloween. In Andover, those hours will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.
