Andover 2020-2021 Kindergarten Registration Opens Monday

ANDOVER, MA — Online registration for 2020-2021 Andover kindergarten opens Monday, the district announced Wednesday. This will be the first year of free full-day kindergarten, after the School Committee voted in December to eliminate fees. There will no longer be half-day kindergarten, the announcement notes.

School administrators and the committee said they plan to account for the lost fee revenue with state aid, ahead of the vote in December.

Children must turn 5 on or before Aug. 31, 2020 to be registered for kindergarten next year. Registration will be available online starting Monday, Feb. 10. However, the announcement notes, parents will also have to bring in hard copies of:

"1. Birth Certificate
2. Immunization documents and a copy of most recent physical
3. Affidavit of Residency form – NOTARIZED
4. Proof of Residency (4 documents)"

The registration deadline is Feb. 27, with the district offices open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 25 to 27. There is one day of extended registration hours for each kindergarten, listed on the district website.
