Andover DCS' Fall Co-ed Adult Softball League Champions are Crowned

After Tuesday and Wednesday’s playoff games, we have our two division champions for the Andover DCS Co-ed Adult FALL Softball League for this year.

On Tuesday night in the American Division final, the TSR Misfits were facing the Claddagh Shockers in game three after pulling out a one run win on Monday to tie the series.

The game was tied at 5 to 5 after five innings. The Misfits grabbed an 8 to 5 lead with a big two out rally in the top of the sixth. After zeros in the bottom of the sixth and top of the seventh, the Shockers put on a final charge, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to make it 8 to 7 but just fell short of getting that tying run.

The TSR Misfits win the American Division championship. The first team to knock off the Shockers in the finals since the start of Fall softball here.

On Wednesday night, the Valley Patriots were facing the Park Street Fugitives in game two of their series after a 7-6 win on Monday. The Patriots got out to a large early lead but the Fugitives kept chipping away at it until they got to within one run at 16 to 15 after six innings. In the top of the seventh the Fugitives scored twice to take a 17 to 16 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Patriots got the equalizer tying the game at 17 to 17 after seven and forcing an extra inning. After holding the Fugitives in the top of the eighth the Patriots got runners on first and second with one out. On a ground ball to deep short the ball went to second base for the force out but the runner from second never stopped running and the throw home was not in time, giving the Valley Patriots the win and the Championship of the National Division for 2014.
