ANDOVER, MA — A major winter storm is dumping snow and bringing heavy wind to the region. The town has provided updates on parking, cancellations, trash collection, and more.
Town officials said Public Works crews will be actively treating and clearing roads throughout the storm. A snow emergency parking ban will take effect at 8 p.m. Sunday and remain in place until further notice. Parking on town roads is prohibited during the ban, and vehicles left on the street may be ticketed or towed.

All non-emergency town buildings are closed Monday, including Town Offices, Old Town Hall offices, Memorial Hall Library, the Cormier Youth Center and the Robb Center.
Andover Public Schools are also closed, and all town and school after-school programs are canceled.

There will be no trash and recycling collection on Monday. Pickup will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
Residents are urged to stay off the roads if possible and give plows ample room to operate. Officials also recommend clearing catch basins and fire hydrants near homes, keeping heating and dryer vents free of snow, and ensuring vehicle tailpipes are clear before starting engines.
The town is coordinating with National Grid amid the potential for power outages. Downed wires should be reported to police or 911, and residents should assume all downed lines are live. During plowable snow events, the 311 information line is activated for storm updates.
