Andover Fire Responds To Report Of Suspicious White Powder

Employees at Vicor Corporation found the substance in a package at the business.

ANDOVER, MA -- Officials believe a white power found in a package at an Andover business is fentanyl or another controlled substance. The substance was reported to the Andover Fire Department by employees at Vicor Corp., who had found the substance in a package around 2:30 pm Thursday afternoon.

Fire officials called the Department of Fire Services District 6 Hazardous Materials Team to the business at 400 Federal Street. Members of that team secured the substance and removed it for testing. No one was injured. The incident remains under investigation.
