Andover Man Arrested After Crashing Into the Woods

Tewksbury Police arrested an Andover resident and charged him with operating under the influence of liquor.

Tewksbury Police last week arrested a 47-year-old Andover man after he drove his car off into the woods on Shawsheen Street in Tewksbury.

Police and emergency crews responded to the incident around 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the area of 1315 Shawsheen St. in Tewksbury, finding a vehicle in the woods with the driver present at the scene.

The driver was eventually transported to Saints Medical Center in Lowell to treat his injuries sustained in the car wreck. He was arrested shortly after.

The operator, Brian Banks, 47, of 311 Lowell Street Apt. 3109, Andover, was arrested and charged with a marked lanes violation, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and operating under the influence of liquor.

Banks was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
