Andover Man Arrested at NH Sobriety Checkpoint

Richard Morin arrested on a drug charge on Route 101A in Amherst, NH.

Seven people are facing charges after a sobriety checkpoint held last night and this morning on Route 101A in Amherst, NH.

According to a press statement, Richard Morin, 38, Andover, was arrested and charged with possession controlled drug.

The check stopped 241 vehicles between 9 p.m. on Aug. 1, and 3 a.m. on Aug. 2:

In a statement, Sgt. S. Callinan of the New Hampshire State Police, said NHSP Col. Robert Quinn, Police Chief Mark Reams of the Amherst Police Department, and the officers of both departments, “consider the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers to be a top priority. They will continue to collaborate and utilize sobriety checkpoints and other means to deter, detect and remove impaired drivers from New Hampshire’s roadways.”
