Andover Man Caught by Trooper He Injures While Allegedly Drunk Driving
A State Trooper injured his leg when his cruiser was rear-ended, but he still was able to chase the suspect down on foot.
BURLINGTON, MA - A Massachusetts State Trooper whose leg had just been injured when his cruiser was hit by a drunk driver on I-95 caught the suspect in a foot chase Sunday night, police said.
The trooper suffered a leg injury when his cruiser was rear-ended at Exit 32 on I-95 North around 8 p.m. by 55-year-old Robert Cambria of Andover, who police said was operating under the influence. The trooper was working detail for a road construction crew.
Cambria allegedly tried to flee, but the injured trooper pursued on foot and took him into custody.

The trooper was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington. The specifics of his injury were not detailed.
Cambria was operating 2016 Kia Sorento, which sustained heavy front-end damage. The trooper was in a fully marked Ford police-model utility vehicle with emergency lights activated. The cruiser sustained heavy rear-end damage.
