Andover Man Charged With Trafficking Cocaine: State Police
Two men are facing charges after a task force drug bust last week.

ANDOVER, MA — A New York man is facing charges that he trafficked cocaine in Andover, according to state police. Rony Valencia-Lopez, 30, is currently being held on federal drug charges.
An undercover agent conducted a controlled purchase of four kilograms of cocaine from Valencia-Lopez on Sept. 21, police said. He was arrested in a sting by a police task force and the drugs were seized.
The drug bust also led to the seizure of 1,132 grams of fentanyl. A trafficker delivered the drugs to an undercover agent in Lawrence on Sept. 20.

In that incident, Jacobo Medina-Mendoza, 39, of Lawrence, was arrested. He was arraigned in Lawrence District Court. The Essex County District Attorney's Office is prosecuting the case.
The drug bust was completed by task forces run by the Massachusetts State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration with assistance from local police.
