Andover Moderator Challenger Drops Out, Leaving Doherty Unopposed
Keith Saxon initially filed to run against Sheila Doherty again, but withdraw his papers ahead of the deadline.

ANDOVER, MA — Barring a sticker campaign, Town Moderator Sheila Doherty is due to win a 14th term this spring. While Keith Saxon initially filed to run again against Doherty, he withdrew ahead of the deadline, leaving Doherty unopposed. Saxon did not say why he withdrew.
Saxon ran against Doherty in 2019 and 2018, winning over a third of the vote. In other recent elections, Doherty has run unopposed.
With Saxon's absence, there will only be two contested races in the annual town election: Select Board and School Committee. The town election is March 24.
