Andover Selectmen Approve 4% Property Tax Increase
Chairmen Alex Vispoli noted that the increase is below the 10-year average.

ANDOVER, MA -- Selectmen approved a residential property tax rate of $15.27 per $1,000 of assessed value. While the rate is down from $15.64 this year, increased property values will mean the average Andover homeowner will see their property tax bill rise by 3.98 percent. Chairmen Alex Vispoli noted that the increase is below the 10-year average. Last year's increase was 3 percent.
This year, when Andover's tax rate was $15.64, the median rate in Essex County was $14.30. Andover had the tenth highest tax rate in Essex County in Fiscal 18; Amesbury was highest at $18.99, while Rockport was lowest at $10.11.
Tax bills will be sent out later on this month. Tax payments are due quarterly on August 1st, November 1st, February 1st and May 1st.
