Andover Teen to Star in 'Legally Blonde'

What do you get when you combine the extraordinary talents of 18-year old Andover resident Kim Uggerholt, with one tiny Chihuahua, and a Boxer named Rufus?

The musical comedy hit Legally Blonde at Boston Children’s Theatre!

Legally Blonde will be performed by students ages 14 – 19 on August 2, 4 and 5 at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield.

Playing multiple roles of ‘Gaelen,’ ‘Mom,’ and a ‘Delta Nu’ in Legally Blonde, Kim is no stranger to the stage.  She was previously seen in BCT’s World Premiere play “Reflections of a Rock Lobster,” and she also appeared in BCT’s “Spring Awakening,” “A Year With Frog and Toad,” and “The Wedding Singer.” 

Kim will attending New York University as a freshman this Fall.

“The energy in this production is infectious,” reveals BCT Executive Producer Toby Schine, who is also directing Legally Blonde.  “With choreography by Carl Rajotte, the Artistic Director of the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH, the cast is having a blast on stage.  It’s the perfect musical to showcase the vast musical comedy talents of our students.”

Legally Blonde is based on the wildly popular film starring Reese Witherspoon as "Elle Woods."

Legally Blonde will be performed at The Governor’s Academy, 1 Elm Street, Byfield. 

Performances are Thursday, August 2 at 8 pm; Saturday, August 4 at 8 pm and Sunday, August 5 at 2 pm.  Tickets are $25 and $20 for adults and $15 and $10 for students.  Legally Blonde is performed in rotation with BCT’s production of Miss Saigon.
