Andover Traffic Alert: Lowell Street Work to Affect 3 School Routes

ANDOVER, MA — Andover drivers heading to West Elementary School, West Middle School and Andover High School are being asked to allow extra travel time over the next few weeks because of water main construction on Lowell Street.

The construction area is on Lowell Street between Beacon Street and Shawsheen Street and Lincoln Street. The traffic advisory applies to trips to and from the three schools during the project.

Traffic patterns are changing while the work is underway.

Eastbound traffic is detoured onto Shawsheen Road during this project. Westbound traffic can proceed on Lowell Street "with caution."

Drivers in the area should expect delays and plan routes with the detour in mind while the water main project continues.
