Andover Woman Wins $4 Million On Scratch-Off Ticket: Mass Lottery

ANDOVER, MA — An Andover woman struck it rich in the Mass Lottery recently. Debra DeCaro of won a $4 million prize playing the Emeralds 50X $10 instant ticket game.

DeCaro chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $2.6 million before taxes. She plans to use her winnings to pay the mortgage on her house, according to Mass Lottery.

She purchased the lucky ticket at Richdale, 10 Railroad St. in Andover and claimed her prize July 21. The store receives a $40,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

DeCaro overcame astronomical odds of 1 in 5,376,000 to win the prize. She claimed the final of three top prizes in the Emeralds 50X game.

There are five remaining prizes worth $1 million in the Emeralds 50X game, according to Mass Lottery.
