Andover Police Release Photos Of Armed Robbery Suspect
Andover Police released surveillance footage showing a white man wearing a mask as he entered the store around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
ANDOVER, MA — A six-foot-tall white man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt robbed the CVS on Main Street in Andover around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Police say the man showed a black and silver handgun and demanded narcotics from the pharmacy. The man fled out the back door of the CVS with the drugs in a black trash bag.

"At this time, our detectives are investigating and there doesn't appear to be any danger to our citizens at this time," Andover Police said in an update on social media just after noon on Tuesday.
The store reopened at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Store employees and police were conducting an inventory Tuesday afternoon to determine what had been taken.

With a police investigation underway downtown, students and staff at the Doherty Middle School and the St. Augustine's School on Central Street were put under a shelter-in-place order. Both lock downs were lifted by 9:10 a.m. No other schools were affected. "Students are in the building and safe," Andover Public Schools said in a message posted on social media Tuesday.
Anyone with information or who was in or near the store at the time of the robbery is being asked to call the Andover Police Department at 978-475-0411. All tips can remain anonymous.
