Barrier Spraying for EEE mosquitoes in Andover

PUBLIC NOTICE

BARRIER TRUCK ADULTICIDE APPLICATION TO CONTROL MOSQUITOES

The Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control and Wetlands Management District is conducting a Barrier application of the adulticide, Suspend SC to control adult mosquitoes in Andover, MA in the evening between the hours of 8:00pm and 12:00am on Friday, August 23, 2019. In case of inclement weather, treatment will occur on Monday, August 26, 2019.

The areas to be sprayed are all public schools, parks/playing fields and playgrounds.

The material to be applied Suspend SC (EPA Reg# 432-763). Active Ingredient: Deltamethrin 4.75%. Suspend SC is an advanced-generation pyrethroid that fights more than 50 pests including mosquitoes. It works at remarkably low concentrations and provides fast knockdown with a long residual. This product contains no synergist, therefore no Piperonyl Butoxid (PBO).

The vehicle is a mid-sized white pickup truck, marked with the NEMMC seal and will be driving slowly through the above designated areas with yellow lights activated. Residents and pets should remain indoors while the vehicle is operating in these designated areas. Air conditioners can remain ON. Please close doors and windows street side, can reopen within ½ hour after truck passes.
