Earth Day Tree Donations

Earth Day Tree Donations

Event Details

41 Central St, Andover, MA, 01810

On Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, at 10:00 AM, the Andover Garden Club will donate a tree in a ceremony at Bicentennial Park, across from South Church.

The club has a long involvement at the park, having commissioned the landscape design for the Bicentennial and then maintaining it for many years thereafter, including a significant redesign at the turn of the millennium. The tree being donated is an Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis).

Following the ceremony at Bicentennial Park, the action will move on to the Andover Town Common, where a second tree will be donated—this one a fringetree (Chionanthus virginicus).

Both of the trees are native, in keeping with the club’s mission to beautify the town of Andover, while helping to protect and conserve natural resources.

The Andover Garden Club welcomes new members, and information about joining is available from AGC membership cochairs Mary Ann Marshall (mamarshall15@gmail.com, 508-265-5487) and Barbara Reichter (bfrdesigns@comcast.net, 978-996-0203).
