Have you seen Pitch Perfect? The Sing-Off? Do you love to sing and share music with others? Have you always wanted to try? Now is the time

Have you seen Pitch Perfect? The Sing-Off? WGBH’s Sing That Thing!? Do you love to sing and share music with others? Have you always wanted to try? Research has shown that singing in harmony is good for your health and good for your brain. Besides, it’s just plain fun! Come join us as we explore different types of a cappella singing – no instruments required! Through this 8 week course, we’ll learn and share rounds and canons, international songs, barbershop, doo-wop, and more. Participants will learn the basics of good vocal technique to support healthy singing. All ages and experience levels welcome. Youth need to be accompanied by an adult.

The Merrimack Valley Community Music School is a non-profit community music school established in 2010 with a mission to provide opportunities for high quality music education & performance in the communities of the Merrimack Valley. We believe in building relationships through music.
Carol Smolenski is a certified chorus director through Sweet Adelines International, and is Associate Director and a singing member of the Merrimack Valley Chorus in Wilmington, MA. She sings bass with Sound Scape Quartet, a competitive foursome that also loves to bring barbershop singing to schools, Girl Scouts, senior facilities and area open mic nights.
