Central Catholic Hockey Coach Mike Jankowski Resigns

ANDOVER, MA — Mike Jankowski, Central Catholic High School's boys hockey coach for 15 years, has resigned.

"It’s time to go," Jankowski said in a statement Friday. "My leave-taking is bitter-sweet. I’m going to really miss the kids at Central Catholic."

Jankowski turned the program into a Super 8 powerhouse. He won over 200 games, notched 11 league titles, and made seven Super 8 appearances.

He said he will now devote more time to his family. Jankowski has two children in high school.

“We have accepted the resignation of Coach Jankowski with great regret," Central Catholic Athletic Director Ernest DiFiore said in a statement. "Mike did a fantastic job for us ... We have about 60 kids participating in hockey each year, this is due to Mike’s love of hockey and love for Central kids."

DiFiore said a search for a replacement will begin immediately.
