Coronavirus Update In Andover: Local Cases Hold Steady
Local officials announce that there are currently 101 active cases as confirmed cases and deaths rise in Massachusetts.
ANDOVER, MA – As the number of confirmed coronavirus cases continues to rise across Massachusetts, the number of local cases continue to hold steady locally. As of Wednesday, town officials reported 206 confirmed cases, 106 of which are active.
On Wednesday, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 1,754 new cases across the state as well as 208 new coronavirus-related deaths. That brings the statewide total to 72,025 cases and 4,420 deaths since the first death in Massachusetts was reported on March 20.
Of the town’s cases, 44 percent are associated with senior-care facilities, public health director Thomas Carbone told the Select Board earlier this week.
