Landscape historian, garden writer, and landscape designer Virginia Lopez Begg will take attendees on a visual tour of artistic gardens--American, English, Italian--both public and private. She will showcase a great variety of landscape styles, and explain how the garden is unique in combining art and nature to create beauty. Begg states, "Wonderful gardens are among the fine arts, like painting, music, or sculpture." Art in Bloom--Outdoors! will illustrate this theme both with naturalistic gardens and those in which the hand of fine art is beautifully on view. The talk is designed to give listeners ideas for successful landscape design at home. It will show how outstanding gardens combine plants with paths and pergolas, seats and sundials, rills and rocky outcrops, to create art outdoors.
