Andover’s first golf course was laid out in 1897 when golfing took the area by storm. The golf course was located on town land in the area between Rabbit Pond and Morton Street on land that is now part of Phillips Academy.
Come to High Tea & History to learn about this little known part of Andover’s history. A collaboration with the Senior Center, August's High Tea will be held at the Historical
Society, 97 Main Street.
High Tea & History, a collaboration between the Andover
Senior Center and the Historical Society is growing! High Tea & History is a reminiscence program based on the Historical Society’s weekly “Andover Stories” column in the Andover Townsman. Each tea focuses on a recent “Andover Stories” article covering a 20th century story, such as movie theaters and local legends. “Andover Stories” are researched and written by Andover Historical Society volunteers and interns.
