Treasures in the Attic: Historic Children's Clothing Collection

Join historian and recent Tufts University Museum Studies intern, Kaitlin Morton-Bentley, as she explores the Andover Historical Society’s children’s clothing collection with visitors July 21, at 6:30-7:30 p.m.  View textiles from the past 200 years that were worn by young Andover children.  See clothing from the Federal era through the Civil War and throughout the end of the 19th century.  This informative viewing opens up the Historical Society’s costume collection to the public for a one-night only evening of entertainment.  Treasures in the Attic is free to Historical Society members and $5 per non-member.  Please call in advance to make reservations or sign-up online.

Many pieces from the Children’s Clothing collection will soon be viewable online at the Historical Society website: www.andoverhistorical.org.  A new online exhibit, ‘19th Century Children’s Clothing,’ created by Kaitlin Morton-Bentley will live on July 22 following the program.
