Executive At Andover Firm Facing Child Pornography Charge

ANDOVER, MA -- A senior director with Andover-based Philips Healthcare was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography on Wednesday. John Curran, 58, of Andover, was arrested without incident at his Algonquin Avenue home after Andover Police executed a search warrant of the residence.
The arrest was part of a multi-department investigation that included the Massachusetts State Police Computer Forensic Unit and a member of the Rowley Police Department who is assigned as a Task Force Officer in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Curran was processed at the Andover Police Station and released. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Lawrence District Court.

Curran has worked at Philips since 2009 and is currently senior director of information systems at the company. Earlier this week the company said it was moving most of its remaining jobs in Andover to other sites as it continues a reorganization of its ultrasound business.
