February Vacation Programs have Something for Everyone!

Plan Ahead because February Vacation Week will be here before you know it, and Andover REC has SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

Plan Ahead because February Vacation Week will be here before you know it, and Andover REC has SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! Check out our one day workshops for kids: Safe Babysitting and Cupcake Decorating OR get registered for week long programs such as SPORTACULAR, Children's Studio for the Arts (CSA), or Cheerleading!

Our Cheerleading Program is run by former NFL Cheerleader, and current Andover High School Varsity Cheerleading Coach Ashley Baldwin. This program is always popular and fills every session with energized little boys and girls who want to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading or improve their skills. By the end of the week the cheering squad is able to perform jumps, cheers, and routines with ease!

Children’s Studio for the Arts, otherwise known as CSA, is a week long program held at Sanborn School and taught by long-time director, and Sanborn Teacher, Beth-Ann Price. This program caters to kids who love theater, arts, and dance and allows them to explore the different mediums in a supportive and nurturing environment. Participants will get experience in all three areas (theater, dance, and art) spending time on the stage in groups or individually and creating works of art to take home.

SPORTACULAR is best for kids who are on the move! This fun-filled program will have a variety of gym games, sports, and activities both inside and outside over the course of the week. No two days will be the same, but kids will have plenty of opportunity to run and play every day. Register by the day or for the entire week at a discounted rate!

Our two one-day workshops are also big hits every time we run them.

Cupcake Decorating gives kids a chance to be artistic with food as they frost and decorate six cupcakes to take home. Step by step instruction will be given so that their cupcakes come out looking like a professional cake designer made them!

And for the child that hopes to be a babysitter or caretaker one day, Safe Babysitting offers the chance to get certified instruction on treating basic first aid emergencies, performing choke-saving procedures, handing fire safety emergencies, and using age appropriate activities with kids. Additionally diaper changing and feeding skills will be taught by the staff from Winchester Hospital for Healthy Living. This course is a full day of important information, and therefore is taught classroom style with worksheets and practice tests that kids can take home as a reference for the future.

Registration for these, and any of our other REC programs can take place on AndoverREC.com or by calling 978-623-8340.
