Creative Living forms Team for Feaster Five to Raise Funds for Developmentally Disabled

Creative Living seeks runners, walkers and donors for its largest annual event, the Creative
Living Feaster Five Team, on November 23, 2017. The team created a Crowdrise
account and raised more than $20,000 last year to support its programs for
individuals with developmental disabilities. This marks the fourth year that Creative
Living has fielded a team for the Feaster Five, donning fluorescent yellow
t-shirts, and raising awareness and support for the developmentally disabled.
For the past 31 years Creative Living has offered life skills, recreational, social,
educational and respite programs for young adults and adults with developmental
disabilities. Programs include GetAway Weekends, summer and vacation break
camps, Friday Night Out social program for young adults, After School Club with
the Andover Public Schools, and school assessments for transition age special
needs students.

A local parent said, “Creative Living to us, as parents, is a place for socialization for our son outside the confines of our family. Families with children with special needs often feel conflicted about the freedom their child should have with the child's limited abilities to decide right from wrong. Creative Living is a haven for us knowing they are in a safe and caring environment. Creative Living, to my son, is where he can meet with friends and enjoy an independence that he constantly strives for and appreciates.”
