Firefighters Respond To House Fire In Andover
The fire started in a clothes drier and took 10 minutes to get under control once crews responded.

ANDOVER, MA -- Fire fighters in Andover were called to a house fire on Andover Street just after 10 am Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters noticed smoke coming from the rear of the house and could hear smoke alarms. The fire had started in a clothes drier and worked its way into the wall of the house.
After calling 911, the family was told to evacuate the home, Fire fighters were able to get the fire under control within 10 minutes. The house sustained smoke and water damage, but there were no injuries.
"This mother's quick thinking and immediate call for help ultimately prevented a tragedy today," Andover Fire Chief Michael Mansfield said in a news release. "Her actions also greatly minimized the damage to her home."
