Information Released On Andover Winterfest Reschedule

Andover Conservation and Andover Recreation will host the annual Winterfest at Pomps Pond, offering activities for all ages.

ANDOVER, MA — Andover's annual Winterfest has been postponed and will be held Feb. 15 at Pomps Pond. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Andover Conservation and Andover Recreation are collaborating to host the day's activities, according to the town.

Winterfest invites Andover families to partake in seasonal fun, outdoor activities, and hands-on learning. Pomps Pond is located at 147 Abbot St. Parking will be available on-site for attendees.

The event will proceed regardless of ice conditions on the pond. Activities will be situated on the ice only if safety conditions permit. If the ice is not deemed safe, all activities will be moved to the shoreline and surrounding areas.

Scheduled activities include an ice fishing derby and guided hikes around the pond. A hockey target competition will also be available for participants of all ages. Zoo New England is set to return with a wildlife demonstration that will highlight local species found in the Pomps Pond area.

The day will conclude with a live ice rescue demonstration. Andover Fire Rescue will conduct this demonstration, showing residents winter safety techniques.

Winterfest is free to attend and open to all community members. Support for Winterfest comes from the Public Works Department and Andover Fire Rescue.
