Kick Off the Summer with a Free Event at Pomps Pond!

Andover Recreation is hosting a Free Summer Kickoff Event down at Pomps Pond on June 14 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

This annual summer fiesta is a great way for families to learn more about the Andover Rec summer playground programs that run throughout the summer. Program Directors from Rec Park Playground, All Day Discovery, Outer Limits, and Beach Buddies will be on site, as well as Rec full time staff, to answer questions and meet the kids, allowing parents to gain valuable program information directly from those who are with their kids day-to-day.

In addition to meeting their counselors for the summer, kids will be able to play in the bounce house, create arts & crafts, and get their faces painted all for free! If you want to make a night out of it, Rec will be selling pizza, snacks, and drinks while Orange Leaf will be on hand selling ice cream out of their traveling frozen yogurt sundae bar!

You will be able to register right on site for programs, as well as purchase your Pomps Pond season pass during the Early Bird Special if you are an Andover resident. Rec staff will be selling season passes at the rate of $100 for Andover residents and $75 for Senior Andover residents. You must have your license and car registration (and two additional forms of proof of residency if your Andover address is not listed on both of those items), with you as well as the car you are purchasing the pass for, in order to purchase your pass. Also available throughout the evening will be Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Introductory Lessons, which is a paid event! If you haven’t yet tried SUP before, now is your chance, and you don’t want to miss out on this fast-growing sport! During your half hour lesson you’ll be guided through safety information, balance, and paddling techniques to get you around on the water. These lessons are great for adults or kids alike. Pre-registration is required for the lessons so make sure you get your space before it fills.
