Lifeguards Needed at Pomps Pond for the Summer

Andover Recreation is now hiring for lifeguard positions at Pomps Pond for the summer of 2018.

Pomps Pond is a great place to spend the summer working! The pond offers a spacious sunbathing area, recreational swimming, shaded picnic grounds, children's playground area, volleyball net, sailboat, canoe, and kayak rentals, bathrooms, showers, and a concession stand. Lifeguards need to be certified and at least 16 years old in order to apply.

Lifeguard training is also available through Andover Recreation beginning June 9. Upon successful completion, candidates will receive Lifeguarding (Waterfront & Pool), CPR, and First Aid certifications. All candidates must pass a pre-course skills check which includes: Swim 550 yards using front crawl and/or breaststroke, tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs, and retrieve a 10-pound object from 7 ft deep water. Participants must be 15 years old by the end of the course.
