MASSACHUSETTS — A wet, coastal storm is expected to hit Massachusetts Monday afternoon, dropping snow and then rain across most of the state. Snow is forecast to begin as early as 11 a.m. in the Berkshires and roll east to hit Boston around 4. Most snow accumulation — as much as 12 inches — will land in the northwestern parts of the state.

Boston is expected to get less than an inch while Worcester will get 4-6, the National Weather Service said. The snow should turn to rain in the evening.

The coast is likely to get a "slushy accumulation."
