Major Outage In Downtown Andover, Repairs Expected By 6:45

Officials did not say the cause of the outage.

ANDOVER, MA — There is a major power outage in downtown Andover, Town Manager Andrew Flanagan said Friday afternoon. Repairs are expected to be completed by 6:45 p.m., he said. According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, 820 customers are affected.

In a tweet, Flanagan wrote the following streets are affected: "MAIN ST, ELM SQ, ESSEX ST, POST-OFFICE AVE, ELM ST, ELM CT, DUNDEE PARK, ELM-MAIN ST, DUNDEE PARK, ESSEX ST, AMICI WAY, RAILROAD ST, RAILROAD AVE, PEARSON ST, RED-SPRING RD, LEWIS ST and BUXTON CT."

Earlier Friday afternoon, a car crashed into a utility pole on Salem Street. Fire officials said National Grid might have to cut power during repairs.
