Man Charged In Lawrence DPW Shooting Held Without Bail
A 20-year-old Lawrence man plead not guilty at his arraignment Monday.

LAWRENCE, MA — A 20-year-old Lawrence man was arraigned Monday on a murder charge in connection to the January shooting death of a Lawrence Department of Public Works employee, the Boston Globe reported. The victim, Marcos A. Ruiz-Rodriguez, 52, of Methuen, was doing roadwork on Lawrence's Andover Street when he was shot, Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Lawrence Police Chief Roy Vasque said. Investigators said last month that they did not believe Ruiz-Rodriguez was the intended target.
Ariel Toribio was arrested by state and Lawrence police. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf, Monday, and he was ordered held without bail.
