Man Shot During Methuen Home Invasion
BREAKING: Police are searching for the suspected gunman.

METHUEN, MA – Methuen police are searching for a suspect in a violent home invasion early Friday morning on Elmwood Road, during which a 46-year-old male victim was shot in the leg.
Methuen police responded at 5:20 a.m. to an Elmwood Road address for a reported home invasion with shots fired. Upon arrival, police found the victim had been shot once in the leg. He was transported to an area hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
The victim has not been cooperative with investigators, according to police. Police say it was a random act. The investigation indicates the victim was targeted by the suspect.

Methuen police stressed that the home invasion had no connection to the murder investigation in Lowell, where police sought Ross Elliott, 51, a suspect in the fatal shooting of his former girlfriend, 44-year-old Nichole Gamache-White, early Thursday morning. Elliott was found dead of a gunshot wound in the trunk of a car Friday.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangeroues, and residents should not approach the suspect if spotted, police say.
Police released surveillance images and video of the man suspect, who remains at large.
