Obituary: Eleanore A. "June" Hemmick, Pursued Her Love of Ballet as a Student and as a Teacher
Went to work for Westinghouse Electric Corp. for 10 years.

Eleanore A. “June” Hemmick, 94, died February 3, 2015 at the Prescott House in North Andover. She was born August 24, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Eleanore Cooke Anderson and the late Robert Powers Anderson. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth S. Hemmick, in 1990.
June spent her early years in Charleston, West Virginia and Catonsville, Maryland, where her father worked for the Associated Press and later as a news editor for the Baltimore Sun. After graduating high school in 1937, she pursued her love of ballet, both as a student and as a teacher. June continued her dance studio work until the U.S. involvement in WWII, when she went to work for Westinghouse Electric Corp. She remained at Westinghouse for ten years, where she met her husband, Ken.

June and Ken were married in 1950 and lived on Mill Creek, Annapolis, MD, where they shared over 40 happy years entertaining friends and family. June is survived by a daughter, Karen Kou, her husband Michael, and grandsons John and David.
