Overnight Paving Work Scheduled For Route 28 In Andover

ANDOVER, MA -- The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced it will begin overnight construction operations on Route 28 in Andover beginning on the evening of Wednesday, May 9. Work will take place each night during overnight hours of 8 p.m., through 5 a.m., and is currently expected to be completed by the middle of July.
These operations will take place on Route 28 between the intersection with I-495 and the intersection with Route 133. Two-way traffic will be maintained whenever possible and alternating one-way traffic will be implemented as needed in order to ensure crews and contractors can safely and effectively conduct operations. The work may also require short term temporary closures of the I-495 on and off-ramps, and detours will be implemented during these times.
The full scope of work for these operations consists of pavement milling and paving, drainage repairs, and installing pavement markings, new sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, and curbing.

Drivers who are traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
