Phillips Named The Best School In Massachusetts: Niche
Niche has compiled what it says are the top 100 schools in Massachusetts, which includes both private and public schools.
ANDOVER, MA — Andover's Phillips Academy was named the #1 school in the state by Niche.com, which specializes in school rankings and grading. The list includes both private and public schools, and Phillips leads the pack, followed by six other private schools before the first public school, Worcester's Massachusetts Academy of Math & Science, comes in at number eight.
Niche arrives at the rankings by compiling user reviews and data from the U.S. Department of Education, including grades, culture and diversity, health and safety, sports and more. You can see the methodology here. Phillips earned an A+ overall grade. It has 1,146 students and a 5:1 student:teacher ratio. It earned A+ grades in all but two categories; in diversity and sports, it earned A's. The school has yearly tuition of $44,800.
