Police: Helicopter Hovering Over Andover Not Tied To Emergency

ANDOVER, MA -- A helicopter hovering over downtown Andover Thursday afternoon alarmed some residents -- enough so that police posted a message on their Facebook page just before 2 pm.

"If you’re wondering what the helicopter is doing hovering over the downtown area, so are we! We can assure you there is no ongoing police emergency in town right now!" Andover Police posted on the department's official Facebook page.

Patch will update this story when -- or maybe if -- we figure out why the helicopter was hanging out over Andover.
