Request For Learning Model Changes At Andover Public Schools

At this time, parents/guardians of grades K-5 and Andover High School students may request consideration for a hybrid or remote academy switch for their student. Requests should be submitted using the district’s hybrid/remote parent request form. Middle School families may request a change in learning models beginning the week of November 16, 2020. Further details will be provided at that time. Shawsheen Preschool families may request a change in learning models beginning December 4, 2020.

For grades K-5 and AHS hybrid/remote switch requests, the deadline is November 20. The district will review each parent request in consultation with school principals with careful consideration given to priority student needs, physical distancing, space limitations, transportation, staffing and schedules. The district will communicate decisions on switch requests and start dates directly to parents by/before December 4.

It is important to note that hybrid/remote switches will result in placements with different teachers and classes, and in some cases, may result in different school assignments for the remainder of the school year. In the event a hybrid/remote switch is not possible, the parent will be informed, and the district will maintain a centralized wait list for consideration at the next term or elementary parent/teacher conference date.
