Right at Home Presents DementiaLive™​ to Care Team at Hannah Dustin Healthcare Center in Haverhill

{FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- October 25, 2017 Haverhill, MA 01830}—Local in-home care agency, Right at Home Boston and North recently trained the care staff at Hannah Dustin Healthcare Center in Haverhill, MA on Wednesday October 18th. We put over 20 members from Hannah Dustin’s care-team through the training. Right at Home Boston and North team members, Celeste Begley and Victoria Guskiewicz, are trained facilitators for DementiaLive™, and have put hundreds of care professionals through the training across the Merrimack Valley and throughout the Commonwealth. Dementia is a brain disorder that diminishes memory, thinking and communication, making daily self-care and activities a challenge.

DementiaLiveTM is a sensitivity awareness training program provided through the Age-u-cate Institute. Participants can experience what it is be like to live with dementia and cognitive impairment, building awareness of the condition’s symptoms and gaining an in-depth understanding of the neurodegenerative disease.

The training helps participants to improve communication and decrease misunderstanding with patients and their families. It also advocates for person-centered care. Right at Home Boston and North introduced the training to the Merrimack Valley in 2016.
