Road Work Projects To Impact Traffic In Andover This Week

ANDOVER, MA — Road work and bridge projects are expected to cause delays in parts of Andover this week, town officials said. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and follow posted detours and police details.

On Tuesday, work will be done on Lowell Street between Lovejoy Road and Argilla Road. The road will close during paving work, and traffic will be detoured through Greenwood Road and High Plain Road.

On Monday, drivers on Lupine Road should expect alternating one-way traffic while paving crews work in the area.

Additional paving tied to National Grid utility work is also planned throughout the week in the following areas:

  • Minuteman and Old River West: daytime, May 18-19
  • Webster Street: daytime, May 19-20
  • North Road, River Road and Old River East: overnight work May 20-22

Sidewalk work is also scheduled on North Street, Burnham Road and Dufton Road.

State bridge replacement work on Interstate 495 is also ongoing and could lead to lane restrictions and traffic slowdowns.
